The West Coast Eagles’ home training ground at Lathlain Oval is shining brighter thanks to a new, low-energy LED lighting system.
Installed as part of a major redevelopment of the Lathlain Precinct sporting and community grounds, the lighting forms part of an initiative to entice families and children to spend more time outdoors and playing sport.
The lighting covers two zones including the Eagles and Perth Demons training grounds at Mineral Resources Park, as well as nearby community spaces of multipurpose courts for basketball and tennis, playgrounds, upgraded parking, amenity buildings, and footpaths and landscaped public areas.
Prestige Electrical Managing Director, Frank Rossi, whose company was sub-contracted to supply and install the new electrical infrastructure, believes the new development offers long-term sustainability and community benefits.
“The LED lighting installed is low in energy consumption while providing a bright, even illumination that will light up the entire space,” Mr Rossi said.
“It really warms the area and we think this will become an enticing attraction for people from the local community to visit and spend time at the oval.”
The $60 million Lathlain Precinct Redevelopment Project is designed to support community health and wellbeing, provide facilities that encouraged locals to play, exercise, meet, relax and enjoy watching elite-level sport.
Mr Rossi said Prestige Electrical was proud to have been involved in the redevelopment.
“We feel privileged to have been part of this project and look forward to seeing the precinct come to life as a place that locals can enjoy,” he said.
